Objectives
As the Deputy Project Manager, you will work alongside the Project Manager and be responsible for managing the engineering, procurement and construction of one of JUWI’s most exciting new projects - a utility-scale solar farm project for a large mining operation in Western Australia.
At JUWI, the Deputy Project Manager plays an integral role in leading the project and supporting the project team to ensure project success - you will be responsible for working with and coordinating the entire project team to achieve project goals and deliverables. The role will put you into the mix of a team of world class professionals providing project support from around the globe and enabling you to help decarbonise Australia’s resource sector.
Key Responsibilities:
At JUWI, the Deputy Project Manager plays an integral role in leading the project and supporting the project team to ensure project success - you will be responsible for working with and coordinating the entire project team to achieve project goals and deliverables. The role will put you into the mix of a team of world class professionals providing project support from around the globe and enabling you to help decarbonise Australia’s resource sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of the project plan, including development of project schedule, key project management deliverables and documentation, subcontractor scopes
- Manage the engineering, procurement and construction phases of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Engineering Lead, Procurement Manger, Construction Manager and Commissioning Manager to ensure all the client's requirements are understood and integrated into the project plan.
- Actively manage and coordinate subconsultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all activities are aligned and that the project is delivered to the required cost, time and quality requirements.
- Establish a good working relationship with client, project team and stakeholders to coordinate project delivery, maintain alignment and ensure all scope, cost, quality and schedule requirements are achieved.
- Monitor project progress including schedule, cost and quality requirements, highlighting any issues or risks that may impact the project timeline or budget.
- Develop and manage project documentation and reporting to satisfy all planning and execution requirements for a Tier 1 mining company.
- On boarding various project teams, internal and external, to the project as their involvement is required.
Your Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in project delivery and management (5+ years)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with people from many backgrounds and subject areas.
- Strong management and coordination skills, with a high level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel to project site as required, expectation is a several day visit each month during execution (Note: requires current Construction White Card)
- Previous renewable energy sector experience
- Experience working in project delivery for Tier 1 mining clients
- Capable of independent decision-making
- Result and detailed-orientated approach
